Here’s an idea from St. Clement Regional Catholic School in Saratoga Springs, New York. The school does its own talking!
When parents drive up, they’re encouraged to tune their car radios to a particular frequency to hear about the school. It uses the technology of “The Talking House,” a concept used by realtors to tell prospective buyers about the house that they’re sitting in front of. If we can use this technology to find out about a house, why not use it to have prospective parents find out more about our schools?
If you’d like more information, visit http://talkinghouse.com/. There are Web sites out there that will instruct you how to build your own low-power radio transmitter, but if you’re not good with a soldering iron, you might want to check out the above link. It’s a great way to continue to keep marketing your school over the summer when there may not be many staff members around as there are during the school year.
